Yesterday my new Docici frame set came in the mail from Italy. Docici was a sponsor of the Rose City Fix book release. They generously gave a custom frame to the alley-cat winner. Jacopo and the crew at Dodici make great frames couldn't more rad.
The frame is 53cm raw aluminum with clear powder coat and a black carbon fork. On one side of the top tube is scripted Salo and the other Sisu. Sisu is a Finnish term translated into English as strength of will, determination, perseverance, and acting rationally in the face of adversity. It’ll go nicely with the huge SISU tattoo on my stomach. OK I should top this “Sisu/Finnish” tangent before I start ranting about sauna’s and whatnot. So anyway, I can’t wait to get this thing together so and ride it. It’s super light and looks fun as hell.

I’ve been so busy the last few weeks since my move and life in general I haven’t had much time to shoot. This past weekend I was suddenly struck with a day free of anything do. It was like a dream come true. There I was on a Saturday with some time to head out on the bike with the hasselblad, few rolls of film to burn, and some good friends. Up until then I had only shot with a 50mm lens on the hasselblad. I have two other lenses that had yet to be touched. I threw on the 85mm and headed out. I’m in love. More and more I want to ditch the digital all together and just shoot film only. So far i’ve only processed one roll. I’ll post more when the other rolls are processed.
This past Sunday Ryen and I made our way to PIR in the rain and mudd to watch cyclocross races. We had a blast. Thanks to cups of coffee we were able to keep warm for a while. I'm just bummed i didn't go to more of these races this season.

I have a piece hanging out at the Art Velo show in Seattle. The show runs November 1 - 14. If you're in seattle you should check this out. It is all affordable bike art by bike people who make art.
thanks to ryan from Go Means Go for putting this on!

Last night while editing photos I realized that, for the last few years, I’ve been doing the majority of my photographing in the SE industrial area. It's nothing I’ve planned. There are some great spots to shoot. There are 4 bridges, cobble stone streets, and walls filled with graffiti, and it’s super convenient since its 20 blocks from where I live. I need to venture out and find some new spots to shoot.
The Blazers play their first regular season game tonight. I'm so stoked. Can't wait to get off work.
that's about it...
